Running a business from home may not be as easy as it looks. Working from home has unique problem of its own which are quite common ones, yet people make mistakes which cause those problems.

While working from home, one of the most common problems is the lack of credibility. People generally think that if you are working from home, it is less professional and less credible as compared to other companies which operate through multinationals and have offices inside sky scrapers. A more common way to counter this problem is not use your residential address for business transactions, but instead, using a mailbox or address of some commercial part of the town, which gives an impression of a larger enterprise.

Another problem which people who work from home find difficult to cope with is switching off after a days work, just because they work and live at the same place. This is very common situation among many of the businessmen that they mix their work and home affairs, and as a result there is a very thin line between work and play.

A solution to this is that you should give a specific room for their work and should leave work at that only, and the other works like dining room, living room, drawing room should be separate and not be merged with work room.

One more problem which people working from home face is that very often, the customers show up at their places at relatively odd hours, which are well outside the working hours. One should not be too shocked if they receive customers at odd hours demanding explanations or asking few questions, since your home work place will be for them your business place. Hence, your private life will get disturbed very much, and all you will have to concentrate would be work.

There are many more problems which a person working from home will probably encounter, but there are a few things which one must keep in mind before starting the business. One must be how to handle customers who turn up at odd hours, and the other would be the address which you provide as your business contact.
