What MLM Ad’s Are You Clicking On?

Posted on January 15th, 2010 in Work at Home

I’ve, over the past 24 years, clicked on thousands of ad’s promoting various MLM programs. But, only recently have I taken a closer look at the kinds of ads I have been clicking on and viewing. What MLM ad’s are you clicking on?

We’ve all seen them, over and over again, “Make Thousands in 30 days”, “Get Rich, Never Work Again”, “Build an Income Without Trying”. How many times have we fallen for these kinds of statements? After all, if it’s printed (even on a computer) it must ring true, right? NOT! The gullibilty of people is amazing. As a marketer, I am amazed at some of the claims other marketer’s are putting on the computer. Some even go as far as to show a claimed income record from PayPal. I’m sure you’ve seen those. You know, the ones where some of the information is blurred out so you can’t see it? Of course, we are told the blurred info is to protect private information. But, if you’ve ever seen a Paypal statement, the information in the “register” portion doesn’t show personal information. Okay, I’m getting off topic here. Let’s get back to the point.

Advertising is highly competitive. Each is trying to get your attention, to get you to respond the way they want you to respond. And from what I’ve seen in my 24 years of Internet marketing, there seems to be a lot of response to the hard-sell type of ad. But, there also seems to be a lot of very unhappy people who respond to those ads. They soon find that in many cases, the claims were exagerated, at best. Yet, they’ll quit that program and find another ad, similar to the most recent one they clicked on and start all over again. It’s a vicious cycle. And unfortunately, we, the shopper are being taken for a ride the hard way. Also as unfortunate, it puts a bad taste in the mouths of those who just want to get ahead. So, let’s take a look at what is believable, and what is not.

Which of these would you respond to:

1. Start Your Own Business and Quit Your JOB (Just Over Broke)
2. Work 2 hours a day. Earn up to $500 a month
3. Thousands Monthly, Never Work Again!
4. Earn $10,000/month. We do all the work for you.
5. I”ve Earned Thousands Using This Method

These are actual ad’s I’ve found in Google’s Search Engines. Lets break these down:

Start Your Own Business and Quit Your JOB (Just Over Broke)

Somewhat Believable: It’s true, one can start their own business and eventually quit their JOB. In reality, that’s all a job is – a position that provides you an income, but only enough to get by on. How many people do you work with who are really not reliant upon their jobs. They need it to pay the bills, to feed the family and to hopefully be able to take that 1 or 2 week vacation every year that the boss gives you. Starting your own business can, and does provide an extra income. And if handled properly, does allow for you to eventually quit your job and work out of your own home.

Work 2 hours a day. Earn up to $500 a month

Believable: I say this because it is possible to earn $500 month working only 2 hours a day. All you need is the right tools and the support of a good sponsor and it can be done. This statement isn’t offering you the moon. It’s just offering you what can be achieved with minimal effort. How does this break down:

* There are, on average, 30 days per month
* 2 hrs x’s 30 days = 60 hours
* $500 divided by 60 hours = $8.33 per hour

That’s not an unreasonable amount to be making. After all, some of you make more than that per hour on your regular job. Of course some make less than that. Here’s the question in this scenario: What would an extra $500 a month do for you? Would it make your life a little bit easier, financially?

Thousands Monthly, Never Work Again!

Somewhat believable: This type of lead-in to an advertisement is a bit misleading in that it implies that you’ll start making money right away and can quit your job. However, that’s rarely, if ever, realistic. On the upside, it is possible to make thousands monthly and be able to quit your job. But to keep that lifestyle you’ll still have to work. Residual income will continue, but if you don’t continue to work with whatever program you’ve joined, eventually the residual income will dry up as well. So, it’s partially true, with the “never work again” portion being false and unbelievable.

Earn $10,000/month. We do all the work for you.

There’s actually a company I know that advertises this. I fell for it myself a few years ago. The concept they have is very good, but the reality of it is so far from the truth that I have to say, this one is UNBELIEVABLE. No one in their right mind is going to pay you for doing nothing at all. No one is going to pay you for the privilege of doing what you should be doing. So, the concept is this, if you pay XYZ company this much money, and send this many people to our web-page, we’ll promise to do the work for you and you’ll never have to do anything again. Where’s the problem here? “I have to pay how much a month and spend how much in advertising to get all the people I need to visit your web site?”

I”ve Earned Thousands Using This Method

UNBELIEVABLE: If you see this ad, move away from it. More often than not, it is an affiliate using the ad-copy designed by the originator of this program. The method, more often than not has already flooded the MLM category’s on the Internet and is ineffective for an affiliate to successfully use.

When shopping for a way to make extra money, or to replace your income all together, go back to the basics of shopping. Buy what’s already been proven!

I would like to recommend that you to look into these two programs. Both are free to sign up and my experience with them is that they are true to their advertising. The programs the present are rock solid and time tested. Sign up for SFI, free and then with GDI’s 7-day free trial period. But beware, to succeed you’ll need to work the programs, follow the directions and envelope that thought that if it’s worth having, it’s worth working for.
